November 2012 - Idea sparked and facebook page and group started (Winnipeg Spanish Immersion)

December 2012- Winnipeg School Division, Latin American community groups contacted

January 2013- Meeting with Assistant Superintendent of Winnipeg School Division.  We need 23 children in a particular year/grade for the program to start

February 2013- Contacted Department of Education and Louis Riel School Division, Article in Sou'wester, Contacted various Parent Advisory Councils across the city

March 2013- Contacted Alberta Education and Spanish Embassy representatives, Radio interview with CBC and live morning show on CTV

April 2013 - Meeting with River East School Division where they expressed they need to see sustained community support ie. many interested families signed up, Meeting with Alberta Education Spanish language Consultant

May 2013 - First meeting with Dept. of Education language consultant, various division language consultants and university supporters

June 2013 - over 100 children from birth years 2002-2013 are on the list from across the city.  Great start, more needed!

June 25th 2013 - Forum and Information Night at the University of Winnipeg

July 2013
- Formation of Volunteer/Steering Committee
- Meeting with Province of Manitoba, Deputy Minister of Education
-Promotion at Latin Fest

August 2013
-Promotion at Folklorama

September 2013
-Promotion at Cultural Fest at the Forks
-We have over 200 children on the list!

October 19th
-Informational meeting with Alberta Education at University of St. Boniface

November
- formal proposals to:
Pembina Trails
Winnipeg School Division
River East Transcona

December
-declined by Pembina Trails

January 2014
-call back from Winnipeg School Division to continue the conversation on how to start the program

June 2014
-Decision to start the program in Fall of 2015

Summer 2014
-Folklorama and various other venues to promote the proposal

November 2014
-Made presentation to WSD
-Luxton Elementary school was named to house the program

December 2014
-Open house at Luxton and presentations by principal, by Eugenia and Kathy, District Superintendent

May 2015
-Division contacted families to inquire about interest

June 2015
-Decision to postpone the program start until Fall 2016

July 2015
-Set up monthly meetings with new District Superintendent

August 2015
-Met with Spanish Association
-Met with Department of Education

September 2015
-Finalized community survey to go out to Earl Grey, Luxton, and Isaac Brock

November 2015
-Surveys completed by communities and information compiled for Trustees

December 2015
-Earl Grey School announced to house the program; official notice up on WSD website

January 2014
-Registration is Open at Earl Grey School, 340 Cockburn Street N. from January 4th to January 29th
